I was anonymously cited in the Boston Globe this week! :)
"according to one study" is me. It's been amusing to see the increasing non-specificity over the years. It used to be "according to Matthew Gray, a researcher at MIT", then "according to an MIT researcher" and now "according to one study". In the online version of the article (http://www.bostonglobe.com/ideas/2014/07/05/dawn-web-oral-history/RORzwjNMQo74XCArDJxm3L/story.html) , it's a link at least.

I remember this from 1993/4 --- I remember you standing up in SIPB with your data pointing to the exponential growth of the web. It was one of my formative experiences at MIT, though I'm sorry to say I ignored you at the time. I was too worried about my physics and math classes. You seemed like some wild-eyed prophet; I wasn't at all sure whether to take you seriously or not. But it makes me take MIT's current crop of wild-eyed prophets more seriously.

Hey, at least you got 'according to one study'. In the next iteration of this process, 'according to one study' will be dropped all together.

Hey, don't worry, you're still cited in a lot of IT classes, as being the first real wanderer of the web ;) (at least in Switzerland)
