Board gaming summary for 2014
The "Hot" Games of the year for me were: Paperback, Splendor, The Captain is Dead, Star Realms, and Sentinels of the Multiverse.
Overall stats:
- 266 games played on 117 days
- 176 distinct titles, 80 new-to-me titles
- 130 fellow players
- 120 games played at home, 45 at my regular gaming group, 43 at gaming events/conventions
All of these are down a bit from the past couple years, but some of that has been more time with RPGs, but only some.
Perhaps most noteworthy was that 3 of the hot games for the year for me and many other good ones for the year have been Kickstarter games. I know lots of others have had more mixed results with Kickstarter games, but I've been really happy with the games I've gotten, and I got a bunch in 2014. I've gotten a few mediocre games from Kickstarter, but most have been better than mediocre and several have been great.
