(This post is about RPGs, not board games)

The Numenera RPG is well done.  It's a cleanly constructed game, very well written, creatively imagined and beautifully illustrated.  I backed the original Kickstarter, and am backing this current one which substantially expands the game world.

I've played some and the underlying system really feels like it adds to good gameplay.  The setting (distant future science-fantasy) isn't for everyone, but I find it to a very good job of having some parts that are familiar re-skinned fantasy tropes (with some creative twists) and some compelling new and different ideas that are novel science fantasy and compose together into a nice overall setting.  Independent of the play, the writing is really good and the books have been enjoyable to read.  If the general idea of Numenera is appealing (it is to me), I strongly suspect you'd be really happy with it.

I'm glad that they've found an audience to keep expanding it.
